The National Association of Farm Broadcasting recently sat down with Eric Sarff, president of Murray Wise Associates (MWA), to discuss the current farmland market. Their conversation was subsequently shared with farm broadcasters across the country and was aired by dozens of stations throughout the Midwest.
In the interview, Sarff explained that, while interest rates have had a slight dampening effect on the red-hot appreciation of farmland, the market remains strong thanks to supply constraints, renewable energy projects, continued farmer interest, and investors seeking inflation hedges. In fact, MWA auctions are still drawing dozens of bidders and high closing prices, he said.
